WASP

APPEARANCE:

With the popularity of the game, there are already artist who drew some fan concepts of their visuals. These are my two favorites that I found. One thing I like about these are that Wasp isn't wearing a helmet, in my opinion the glasses suit her more and also looks better and another is that is going the technological way of her powers and not the mutant way, since I like the cyber wings and tech suit she is wearing. Only thing I would go is, that when she is in her normal size, her wings are down looking like a cape and when she shrinks, they spread out.

PROFILE:

Class: Strategist

I think Wasp and her abilities would really suit her as a strategists, being able to heal and buff allies, while debuffing enemies with her shrink and growth mechanic. 

Even though she would be perfect for a flying hero, I am going to let her only fly when she is small. That is because flying heroes are more or less in the sky on them self, why on the ground she can get good protection from her team, which is important for strategists in my opinion. Also in her most versions, Wasp is actually only able to fly when she is small.

Base Stats:

Health: 275

Movement Speed: 6m/s

Strategists have either 250 or 275 health, since she isn't going to get much self healing abilities, I think its fair for her to have the bigger health pool.

Since she is going to have an ability which increases her movement speed, I don't see the need to give her base stat more than the others.

ABILITIES:

NORMAL ATTACK: 

  • Left Click: STINGERS

    • Casting: Single-cast projectile with delayed impact

    • One-Time Damage Amount: 25

    • Damage Over Time Amount: 5/s

    • One-Time Healing Amount: 50

    • Healing Over Time Amount: 10/s

    • Duration: 5s (the duration cannot stack; repeatedly casting will only refresh the duration)

    • Fire Rate: 1 rounds per second

    • Ammo: 10

    • Projectile Speed: 120m/s

    • Maximum Flight Distance: 30m

    • Critical Hit: No

Stingers is one of the common names Wasp use for her shooting attack. On the basis of the name, I though it would be cool to let it sting with a poisonous secret, like in real life wasps do. So after she stings someone he gets the full effect on it, and then again after 5s, so effectively Wasp deals 50 damage and 100 healing, but half of it is over time. 

ABILITIES: 

  • Right Click: INSECT FOG

    • Casting: Straight-line projectile that generates a spell field upon impact

    • Effect: Wasp commands a swarm of insects to gather around at a place and block vision for the enemies

    • Swarm Duration: 5s

    • Swarm Range: 5m spherical radius

    • Blinding Duration: as long as they stand in the swarm

    • Blinding Range: Visibility is obstructed beyond the Swarm Range

    • Maximum Distance: 20m

    • Cooldown: 11.5s 

Even though she only used it rarely, Wasp is able to telepathically communicate with and control insects. There aren't many abilities who can blind, so I think there is no harm done adding another one. Also with it being a stationary blind field it gives Wasp area control features.

  • Shift: SHRINKING

    • Casting: Instant Cast

    • Effect: Wasp becomes small, gains enhanced speed, healing over time and enters free-flight movement. During that she can't use her normal attack or other abilities, re-using it turns her back into normal size

    • Movement Boost: 50%

    • Healing Over Time Amount: 15/s

    • ​Duration: 10s

    • Cooldown: 15s

    • Special Effect: During this period, Wasp cannot be chosen as a target (neither by attacks like Scarlet Witchs Chaos Control)

One of the main features of the Wasp is to shrink, but at the same time it would be horrible to fight against an extremely small enemy, so instant I decided to use it as an escape and reposition tool. Since she can't heal herself, I think this evens it out to make sure she has a little more suvivability on her own.

  • E: INCREASE OUTPUT

    • Casting: Spell Area upon casting

    • Effect: Boosts the damage of allies around her (Not herself)

    • Range: 10m spherical radius 

    • Damage Boost: 10%

    • Duration: 10s

    • Cooldown: 10s

This is more like an own thing that I am going to give her to fit her more into the strategist role. The suit she is wearing, can emit pheromone that boost the power of allies around her. It is known that wasps emit pheromones to encourage other bees or wasps to sting the same target, which I am going to use to explain her encouraging her team to attack the enemies. 

  • Q: HEALING PHEROMONES

    • Casting: Targeted & Persistent spell field that surrounds the caster

    • Effect: Wasp shrinks herself and sticks on an ally, emitting the healing from this point around her

    • Healing Amount: 250/s 

    • Duration: 6s

    • Range: 15m spherical radius

    • Energy Cost: 4100

    • Special Effect: Can be activated during SHRINKING

250 healing per second is a lot, but to balance it out are the high Energy Cost and the low duration. I kind of like the idea of her hiding on an ally to make sure she can do her work uninterrupted. But of course, since she is stuck on her teammate, if he gets killed she dies too, so you have to choose your partner carefully. 

  • Space: PARACHUTE WINGS

    • Effect: Hold Space to fall slowly

    • Horizontal Movement Speed: 6m/s

    • Descending Speed: 3.5m/s

Characters like Magneto or Scarlet Witch have it, and I though she would fit into it also, since she can't fly in her normal size.

TEAM-UP ABILITIES: 

  • Ant-Man: HAVE A RIDE

    • Wasp: 10% Healing Boost

    • Ant-Man: When Wasp is small due to SHRINKING, Ant-man can press the jump button near her to shrink and hop on her back. He can't attack or use abilities and by pressing the jump button again he hops out of her back and become normal size.

Ant-Man and Wasp are an iconic duo, so it is only natural for them to have a team-up ability. The Ant-Man I am going to design is a melee vanguard, so having someone who can get him close to the enemies is in my book a good way for him to unleash his ultimate (Q) on unsuspecting enemies.
